Mississippi Blues will be kicking off there 1st season in 2010
PICAYUNE'S 1ST SEMI-PRO FOOTBALL TEAM
The Mississippi Blues are a minor league football team that will begin playing home games in Picayune, Mississippi starting June of 2010. The Blues will be playing a 10 game regular season schedule with 5 home games and 5 away games. The Blues are a member of the new Premier Football League (PFL). The PFL is a great league that gives an opportunity to young men that did not make it to college football or the pro level, or if you have never played, to have the chance to play the game you love. Since players are not compensated, players that intended to go to college strengthen their football skills and don't lose their eligibility. The Blues provide continuing football education and experience to players of all levels of achievement and from all walks of life. As coaches and team staff it is our job to teach these young men and work on there skills and then move them on to the next level. We will be sending film to colleges and to pro scouts, marketing these players to get there names out and to give them the  shot they have always dreamed of. The mission of the Mississippi Blues organization is to provide a family friendly entertainment and humanitarian services to Pearl River County through exciting sports contests and a variety of community outreach programs. The Mississippi Blues organization not only gives adults the opportunity to play football, but also supports all local levels of football from youth to the high school level. The Blues will also be involved in many other community services.

The Premier Football league's new football

The PFL is committed to seeking out first class coaches, players and owners with prior football experience at the high school, college, semi-pro or professional level. The PFL will give locally recognized athletes an opportunity to continue playing football past high school or college. The PFL events will be held at local high school and college stadiums and will be affiliated with the local community. The PFL will partner with local media outlets to promote teams within their community. The PFL expects that this partnership between its players, coaches, owner’s and association with the community will promote community unity and support for its teams.  Premier Football League expects to attract football players from the major universities in the Southeast as well as community colleges, high school graduates and former professional players.
